2022 Monthly Memory Keeping Plans

This year, I am taking a simplified approach to document my year with a primary focus on photos instead of embellishments. I enjoy monthly memory keeping, so at the end of the month I like to select a few of my favorite snapshots to include in my album. The PicFrame app and my Canon Selphy make it quick and easy to print different sizes. Here, I adhered a couple 2x3 photos to clear acetate and slipped them in the pockets to add some breathing room around the page.

To create some consistency in my album, I am using the 2022 3x4 Monthly Calendar Cards (Sunday Start) I designed for digital and hybrid scrapbooking. You can visit my In My Pocket (IMP) Designer Shop to find more monthly calendar card designs. There is a variety to fit your needs. I love these cards because they can easily be adapted to any project whether you enjoy daily, weekly, or monthly memory keeping. Just circle a specific date or highlight a full week directly on the card.

To simplify my approach even more, I am embracing my handwriting this year. While I love the clean look of typed journaling, I’ve noticed that typing my journaling and printing it out slows down my process. When I write, I don’t spend as much time thinking about what to say, and the words flow more easily. In my album, I used grid paper to hold my journaling. Number stamps mark the day of the month. Then, under each number, I wrote small snippets describing the photos and other moments from my day to day life.

Documenting everyday life moments brings me so much joy. It keeps me grounded and helps me appreciate the little things. It can be overwhelming to document a full year, but the key for me is to keep it simple.
